What's New...

UPCOMING ELECTION OF OFFICERS:
Since we had a particularly weak turn out for our October
meeting, it was decided to email all members to ask for further
nominations. If you would like to nominate anyone for office of
the DNARC, please email your nominations to Lori
(KF6VFI). Go to the October Meeting
Minutes to see who the current nominees are.

Membership Dues
---
It's that time of year again. Dues run from January
1st of each calendar year until December 31st. Membership prices
have changed this year: According to our new bylaws, each member
pays $20/year, plus $5.00 for each additional family member. You
must be a paid member to have voting rights, and to help make decisions
for the club. You do not have to be a paid member to attend meetings,
or to join us for club activities. Memberships pay for equipment
that is used during emergencies, during Field Day exercises and
at demonstrations of our hobby.
Becoming a member is even easier than ever. You
can mail a check or money order for the appropriate amount (please
include your name(s) and callsign(s)!) to DNARC, P.O. Box 926, Crescent
City, CA 95531-0926. OR you can click on the PayPal button below
to pay your dues safely and conveniently using your checking account
or credit card! [PayPal user name: webmaster@w6hy.com]

We really need folks to get involved with ARES
(Amateur Radio Emergency Services).
Training classes are arranged through Mike (KE7F). Considering the
recent emergencies with Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma, and our close
brush with a tsunami after the earthquake here in June, we all would
be foolish to think that this isn't something needed in our community.
it is never too late to get involved with ARES. It is one of the
most important things any Ham can do for his/her community. Just
being an ARES member isn't enough, we need people who are INVOLVED.
ARES Info: Mike (KE7F) holds regular ARES training sessions at the
local Red Cross offices. For more information, contact Mike
or Chuck
(KG6LTQ).

Meetings...

Read
the October 2005 Meeting Minutes.
We need folks to give demonstrations, presentations,
speak, tell jokes, sing and dance (okay, not really) at our meetings.
It is always nice to have a program. If you have a new way of doing
something Amateur-related, have a video of your Field Day experience,
or have a video (no old home movies, please!) related to something
you think we'd all enjoy, please contact our Vice-President Mike
- KE7F - for a schedule.

The
meetings are held the first Thursday of every month in our newly
remodeled club house at: 920 Ninth Street, Ste. 26, Crescent
City (upstairs in the tall building behind the new Flynn Center
on the corner of Ninth and H Streets). Come up, meet some new folks
or say hello to old friends! We'll make sure to have the coffee
on and we look forward to seeing you there!
