The next club meeting will be Thursday, September
1st at 7 p.m.
PROGRAMS: We
are looking for programs - interesting demonstrations, movies
or stories - related to, or of interest to Amateur Radio operators
for our meetings. If you have a home-brew item that you would
like to share, a slide show of your last DX-pedition, or an
engaging tale of your ham radio prowess, we'd love to have
you share it! Contact our VP, Mike
(KE7F) via email,
so that he can put you on the schedule.

Meeting Minutes
Del Norte Amateur Radio Club
August 4, 2005
Meeting called to order, 7:10 pm
President Lori had all in attendance introduce themselves!
Sixteen people were in attendance.
Lori read the minutes from the July meeting. (Doug/Mike)
approved.
Chuck reported that $1,396.22 is our current balance in checking
account. $2,000 was transferred to a savings account for future
equipment. We already had $1,000 in the savings account. That
brings our account to a total of $4,396.22
Old Business:
- Eric reported that we made $2,341.33 with our fireworks
sales this year. Chuck said that we were up approximately
55% from last year;
- There was discussion about the IRLP node and what to do
with its location. Lou Saylor gave a quick description about
IRLP. He talked about the needed knowledge to manage it.
The operating system is not Windows based, so it is a bit
difficult to maintain. The current antenna needs to be higher
and permanently mounted and needs link control radio, which
automatically identifies the station. Equipment might need
to be purchased. It was decided that we would move the IRLP
station from Lou's to Lindy's home. (Doug/Mike) At the Sept
meeting we will discuss when this event will take place;
- Mike is this year's bike race coordinator. Lori said that
we will have two APRS vehicles on patrol. The date of the
bike race is Sept 24, 2005. Chuck will get in touch with
Loren regarding the mapping software;
- The group discussed putting a digipeater at Camp 6. Chris,
our repeater tech is looking into this project. DNARC would
first have to get approval from the California Highway Patrol
who owns the site. Chris may have a station that he has
for sale for about $450. Mike said that he could assemble
a station up at Camp 6 for about $400. Eric will contact
CHP about getting approval for the addition to the vault;
- Dorothy and Fred Morrison donated their entire ham station
to the DNARC!! Chuck will send them a thank you letter and
also a letter to use for their taxes. Thanks Dorth and Fred!!
New Business:
- The club agreed to have Chuck purchase a logging program
(Mike/Fred);
- Warren offered a tower and trailer project. Chuck suggested
that Red Cross might be interested in doing this project.
Tune in for next month's episode.
Meeting adjourned at 9:05pm (Lou/Warren)
Next DNARC meeting is Thursday, Sept 1st.
Respectfully submitted by your dutiful scribe, Lindy Rust,
WA6ZDO
