Meeting Minutes
Del Norte Amateur Radio
January 6, 2005
Meeting called to order, 7:12 pm
November 2004 meetings minutes were read and approved (Mikie
and Dougie)
Treasurer's report: Chuck reported that the checking balance
is $2,445.10
. Approved (Mikie and Eric)
Old Business:
- Camp 6 repeater: Eric reported that the Camp 6 repeater
output power has returned to normal. He reported that perhaps
ice on the antenna might have caused the low output power.
- Savings account: Mike asked about the creation of the
savings account. Chuck said that it had not been done yet
because he still needed info from Lori. Lori presented the
needed info outlining our DNARC Officers.
- Lori reported that the Christmas dinner was a wonderful
success!
New Business:
- Code Class: Mike reported that he will be doing a CODE
class starting some time in February. The class will be
held at the Red Cross office on Northcrest Drive possibly
on Tuesday, Friday or Saturdays.
- Field Day: Fred volunteered to coordinate the Official
DNARC Field Day Event! (see what happens when you open your
mouth!) Right on Fred!! Mike was concerned that we concentrate
on the event as an emergency practice. Fred said that he
would like the DNARC to register with ARRL and take it more
seriously including sending in our totals.
- Sucker Lindy volunteered to write letters to the major
amateur radio manufacturers for donations of gear to be
raffled at our Field Day festivities.
- Fireworks Booth: Mike volunteered Eric to be the fireworks
god for our esteemed ham club. Eric bowed very submissively
and accepted this prestigious position.
- Club dues: Lori announced that club dues are due. $15
per person or $20 per family.
- DNARC Website: Lori said that the W6HY website was hacked
and rendered useless. Lori will call the host and determine
what is our next move.
- ARES Check-in: Doug said that the Wednesday night check-in
has been sparsely attended. It was decided that the weekly
check in would be moved to Tuesday evenings at 7:15pm
- 50/50 drawing won by Rene
- Monthly meeting activity or program: It was discussed
that we have a monthly activity, possibly at 8pm right after
the regular meeting. Chuck volunteered to do this activity
for our February meeting.
- The HARC asked the DNARC if we would like to be a part
of the San Francisco Section Hamfest/Convention in summer.
We will take this subject up at a later meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 8:05 pm (Dougie/Rene)
Respectfully submitted by your dutiful scribe, Lindy Rust,
