In Memory of Ron Simpson - KD6KYC Born June 8, 1950 SK December 8, 1996

Those of us who knew Ron will surely agree, he was as fine a ham, as fine a friend, as fine a human being as anyone could want to know.

Ron always had a "can do" attitiude, with a smile. Even better, he always had a "you can do it" for anyone who had any doubts about himself. And if someone needed a helping hand, Ron was there. How many of us did he help put up our towers and antennas? How many did he encourage and inspire to upgrade their ticket?
Generous? He defined the word. Positive? "In a heartbeat!" As a club officer or as ARES Emergency Coordinator, he was a force you could count on to get things done. So much more could be said… He was a wonderful family man. He was a deep radio electronics resource, not only for the ham community but for all of Del Norte County. He was a rock!

Amateur Radio is better for having counted Ron among its ranks. We who knew him are better for having counted him a friend. Ron, this web site didn't exist when you were taken from us, but you are not forgotten. You certainly deserve to be remembered in these pages. Here's to ya, buddy!
